For our last event of the 2017-18 season, CapCHI is holding an interactive Design Sprint workshop! Led by former IBMer and design thinking advocate, Ron Gagnier, participants will spend the evening learning techniques that Google Ventures call “a “greatest hits” of business strategy, innovation, behavior science, design thinking, and more.”
This hands-on event will see participants working on a fun and unique design challenge with a team of fellow UX and HCI enthusiasts. Everyone who registers will be placed on a team of 5 or 6 and we are limiting participation to 60. Pre-registration is REQUIRED, so get your ticket before they’re all gone.
Join us at The Fox & Feather Pub and Grill for complimentary appetizers and networking opportunities at 6:00pm, with the workshop beginning at 6:30 (running for approximately 1.5 hours). Ron Gagnier is a champion of customer experience, product design and design thinking. He has worked in the design studios of IBM, started the design program at Halogen Software, been a design consultant with start-ups and enterprise companies for 20 years and currently acts as the resident design expert at Invest Ottawa. He is an outspoken advocate for design thinking and delivers fun, memorable workshops around the city. As a design consultant and business mentor for start-ups Ron has observed most struggle to utilize design to deliver the best customer experience they can. Ron works with a company to develop the design strategy needed for success. When Ron isn’t evangelizing the merits of design he can be found at a local ice rink with his kids or playing the guitar.

2018 Annual General Meeting
At the conclusion of our event on Tuesday, June 26, CapCHI will hold it’s annual general meeting (AGM), as stipulated in our organization’s charter. This meeting is open to all and is a good opportunity to learn more about us if you are interested in volunteering to help build our events and bring the community together.
If you are interested in event planning, social media, or have other ideas of how you could contribute to our team, please come see us on June 26 after the Design Sprint Workshop. This is a great opportunity to expand your network and to be part of a dedicated team of volunteers
