Position Overview

Adobe Systems Incorporated is seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to join the LiveCycle team.

As an Adobe Sr. Experience Designer, you will be responsible for creating great experiences for several members of the Adobe product family. You will work collaboratively with fellow members of the UE (User Experience) team to conceptualize, design and prototype ideas; then inspire members of Product Management, Engineering and Quality Engineering to develop award winning products.

Responsibilities:

As a UE Team member, you would:

  • Represent the "user experience," translate customer requirements into defined specifications and inspire the Engineering team to develop the right product.
  • Own the design of the most impactful user interface – related features and review specifications.
  • Participate in the product definition process with the Product Manager, Engineering Manager and User Research.
  • Significantly influence product strategy and direction.
  • Work with User Research and Product Manager to translate business and marketing goals into the best software solutions for our business.
  • Develop and maintain design mockups, usage scenarios, prototypes, specifications, navigation maps and other design documents.
  • Work with feature development teams to make sure that the workflow reflects the customer’s needs and ensure consistency among features.
  • Develop expert-level knowledge of competitive and complementary products and bring new ideas to the team.
  • Define innovative user interfaces and interaction styles which result in improved user productivity.

This is a unique opportunity to advance the breadth of functionality and enhanced user experience of technologies Live Labs has previously revealed. Candidates are expected to demonstrate applied experience in designing compelling solutions for rich client or web applications.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in designing consumer-oriented experiences that have directly contributed to the growth of healthy online communities.

Specific responsibilities of this role include;

  • champion the user experience through design and development phases with effective communication and buy-in of; goals, scenarios, features, deliverables, milestones and progress,
  • develop a information architecture that can ensure a consistent end-to-end experience for complex system that incorporates multiple technologies and software components,
  • express ideas and concepts through storyboards, illustrations, presentations and prototypes,
  • closely collaborate with scientists, engineers and fellow designers to evaluate and iterate on ideas and designs,
  • detailing final designs to facilitate implementation or hand-off, addressing all user experience-related issues blocking implementation,
  • manage multiple projects, prioritize and plan all deliverables,

A four year degree in Industrial-, Visual-, Interaction- or Interactive-Media Design, or related field is expected. 5-7 years of industry experience developing consumer-oriented client or web applications is expected. Solid communications and presentations skills are expected. Expert level knowledge of design, illustration and prototyping tools is expected. JavaScript, DHTML, AJAX or C# development is an asset.

Of particular interest is a candidate who can demonstrate research that strove to understand that drives customer adoption and loyalty.

Specific responsibilities of this role include;

  • define a coordinated research program that employs a variety of User Centered Design research methods to support initiatives across Live Labs. Emphasis will be on rapid evaluation and iteration.
  • describe and represent Live Labs' target audiences, customers and partners.
  • understand new technologies, identifying the product opportunities they present and craft these into user experience goals, scenarios, features and experiences.
  • collaborate with scientists, engineers and fellow designers to evaluate and iterate on ideas and designs through the development cycle.
  • manage multiple projects, prioritizing and planning deliverables, managing vendors or contractors as you balance tactical and strategic initiatives.

A degree in Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, or Human Factors, with 5-7 years of industry experience in user research, usability, human factors engineering, HCI product design and the evaluation of user interfaces or technologies is expected. Experience with desirability metrics, user experience trees or scenario-based design is an asset. Strong summarization and presentation of user research or usability data is a requirement.
