POSITION SUMMARY

This is a unique opportunity to work with the User Experience Design team. As a UED Associate, the successful candidate will work alongside full-time UED analysts and designers to help make RIM’s leading wireless solution easier to use. You will assist with conducting user research to learn more about how our customers use our products. You will also be a critical part of analyzing and communicating user research results and recommendations to cross-disciplinary teams to have a real impact on our products. Your activities will include:

  • Defining test plans for user testing sessions
  • Facilitating or assisting with user testing in our usability lab facility
  • Compiling qualitative and quantitative findings from test sessions
  • Writing reports on test findings and providing design analysis and recommendations
  • Creating presentations to communicate UED feedback and recommendations to project teams
  • Performing heuristic reviews of interfaces and applications
  • Acting as a user advocate

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled in a university program in Computer Science, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Systems Engineering, or related program
  • Completed a course or research project where you have validated user interface design decisions
  • Excelled in courses such as human-computer interaction, engineering psychology, user-centered design, experimental statistics
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
