Position Summary:

QSI is currently seeking an individual to assist in planning activities that support the organization and evangelize the importance of usability research, providing education to others in IT.

In particular, this role will be focused on the holistic view of IT CSE process optimization and establishing and managing metrics to support the Desktop Support Engineering team.

This individual will report to the Manager and consult with the Senior Manager of Desktop Engineering for the strategic and supporting business plan. This includes assisting on establishing metrics and processes to ensure that organization is improving on the usability of products and services.
Duties:

  • Consult on IT process optimization and consult on strategic transformation of the Desktop Engineering team.
  • Consult on developing and the strategic planning and business planning processes for Desktop Support Engineering.
  • Assist in developing a core set of metrics that will ensure effective measurement of the progress of processes for review and corrective action.
  • Articulate and help identify opportunities for improvement through multiple activities including metrics based analysis and instantiated feedback mechanisms.
  • Assist the Desktop Engineering Manager as a main point of contact and for the procurement organization.  Additionally, assist as a focal point for the Desktop Engineering Manager and Senior Manager.
  • Provide a framework that groups within Adobe IT can follow to improve the usability of their products and services (including a way to measure success).
  • Perform basic user research and provide education to those IT staff who will be usability champions within their own groups.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge in developing, modifying, and executing IT strategies.
  • 3-5 Years experience in the computer industry, in support of heterogeneous computer environment–Windows 2000/XP, OSX, Microsoft Office, and network connectivity.
  • Knowledge of a variety of theoretical and analytical approaches to user behaviour.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with IT and an emphasis on Desktop Support
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent work standards and highly motivated.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (interpersonal and client-facing).
  • Identifying and implementing an appropriate mix of strategic and tactical user research activities.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience working with managed service providers a plus.
  • Entry to mid-level experience in consulting on a strategic planning and/or business operations function.
  • Strong knowledge of best practice business process. ITIL Release Management knowledge a plus.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills & ability speak cross-functionally in IT with regards to processes and usability research.
  • Hands-on experience building consensus and driving improvement projects to completion in an IT environment.
