Senior Usability Consultant at Akendi (Toronto, Ottawa)

With 6+ years of experience, a self-starter and able to work both independently and in conjunction with team members and client groups. Drive, enthusiasm and flexibility to work on a variety of projects are key, as well as the ability to rapidly acquire new domain familiarity.

Responsibilities will include:

• User Needs Assessment
• Persona & Usage Scenario Research / Task analysis
• Contextual Inquiries
• Information Design / IA
• Heuristic evaluations
• Usability Testing

Education: degree in behavioral science, computer science or closely related discipline including:

• Human Factors,
• Human-Computer Interaction (Computer Science)
• Psychology (Cognitive or Experimental)

We’re looking for someone that has deep knowledge of current usability research, theories and methodologies (especially user-centered design processes), and an intuitive feel for how human factors activities provide unique value added throughout the product development lifecycle.
