<p>Our Mechanical Design Engineer III is responsible for static, dynamic design, and analysis of the mechanical aspects of electronics solutions ( VoIP, Digital, Analog voice terminals and adjuncts for business applications ). Acts as a key contributor in a more complex-critical environment and may coordinate activities of others and/or the team. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to start with a clean sheet of paper, define a mechanical architecture that supports the electrical design, and take product thru the entire design and validation process to production.</p>
<p>May be a recognized authority or acclaimed specialist in own area within the organization and shares expertise with colleagues. Has depth of expertise in more than one area. Proactively acts to understand client needs and offer assistance even when not asked. Work is performed with minimal direction and reviewed by senior management. Provides solutions to a diverse range of complex problems.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Seven years of physical design experience</li>
<li>Solid physical design skills of complete product, including plastics, printed wiring boards, labeling, cabling, speaker  &amp; microphone treatments, display treatments, and keypads.</li>
<li>Proven familiarity with low-cost, high-quality, high-volume molded designs for telecom markets, and solving related problems.</li>
<li>Collaboration with outsourced Design teams to define or redefine the mechanical architecture of products to eliminate cost drivers by considering alternate options for the manufacturing process and the use of common parts ensuring that the industrial design and core platforms are maintained.</li>
<li>Environmental testing of products – thermal/humidity, vibration / shock</li>
<li>Use of industry standard mechanical design, modeling, and structuring / storage tools such as ProE, SolidWorks, PDM systems</li>
<li>Ability to author requirements and procedures to be used during the development and for the manufacture of products.</li>
<li>Negotiating and interfacing with vendors</li>
<li>Expected to be primary Interface with Global Ops (product / manufacturing engineers) and Contract Manufacturers</li>

We excel at what we do, we work to the very  highest standards and our staff takes pride in their work.</p>
<p>We are 10-years old, have evolved organically, and currently have 80  staff. We have experienced considerable success and are growing quickly.  We have an immediate need for intermediate user experience design  professionals.</p>
<p><strong>Your challenge</strong><br />
We are currently looking to expand our User Experience team with  qualified user-experience design professionals who are familiar with the  User Centered Design Process.</p>
<p>We are looking for the following roles:</p>
<ul>
<li>User experience researchers,</li>
<li>Information architects, and</li>
<li>Interaction designers.</li>
</ul>
<p>These roles are complementary and we encourage candidates interested in one or more areas to apply.</p>
<p><strong>Information Architect</strong><br />
The Information Architect is part of a multifaceted team. Your  primary responsibility is to ensure that web sites are intuitively  organized and that users of the site can quickly and easily find what  they need. You will be responsible for researching content and  information requirements and producing paper-based content  architectures, sitemaps, and information flow diagrams.</p>
<p>This is a multi-disciplinary role that requires the understanding of  content, technology, interaction design, and usability. Your focus is on  defining the structure and organization of web sites and applications,  while working closely with business, technical, and other UX  professionals to design innovative and effective solutions for clients.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Structural design of shared-information environments, including  organizing and labeling web sites, intranets, online communities, and  software to support findability and usability,</li>
<li>Teaming with business and technical staff to understand and define project requirements,</li>
<li>Undertaking field-based research, such as stakeholder interviews, card sorting and ethnographic studies; and</li>
<li>Advocating for the user-centered design process and contributing to the overall user experience of RealDecoy projects.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A B.Sc. in Library Sciences, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive  Psychology, Computer Science, or related field, or 4 years equivalent  hands-on experience;</li>
<li>Academic or practical knowledge of user-research methods, including  lab-based usability studies, field studies, and usability inspections  (heuristic evaluations or cognitive walkthroughs);</li>
<li>Knowledge of diagramming, information design and presentation—with keen attention to detail;</li>
<li>Excellent analytical ability, especially with regard to observation of user behavior;</li>
<li>Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to present findings concisely and effectively;</li>
<li>The ability to work independently and effectively prioritize time between multiple projects;</li>
<li>A flexible approach: able to adapt to changing schedules, different   products, and develop new user research methods where needed;</li>
<li>The ability to  work well on cross-functional teams, including  engineers, project managers, developers and other user experience  professionals;</li>
<li>Training in research methods and statistics; and</li>
<li>Knowledge of, or experience with any of the following:
<ul>
<li>Accessibility and universal design;</li>
<li>Faceted navigation and dynamic search techniques; and</li>
<li>Government of Canada, Common Look and Feel Guidelines.</li>
</ul>

<li>The ability to work within tight deadlines, and yet be able to keep busy and productive when the pressure is off;</li>
<li>An understanding of how to prioritize and respond to urgent tasks with little or no direction;</li>
<li>Knowledge of business principles and the corporate, retail, and software/high-tech world.</li>
<li>Demonstrated an ability for leadership and coaching, inspiring  others to achieve,—this could through sports, volunteer activities, or   previous employment.</li>

<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong><br />
Your responsibilities will include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Managing and running participatory design and research sessions such as brainstorming, card-sorting, and paper prototyping;</li>
<li>Undertaking field-based research such as stakeholder interviews and ethnography;</li>
<li>Usability testing in numerous forms for low-fidelity, in-development, and live web sites and applications;</li>
<li>Web analytics evaluation using Google analytics, Core Metrics, Webtrends or ClickTracks, etc.;</li>
<li>Creation of personas, use-cases, and user scenarios; and</li>
<li>Team-up with business and technical staff to understand and define project requirements.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong><br />
You will have:</p>
<ul>
<li>A B.Sc. in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology,   Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent (3 yrs) hands-on   experience in a UX field such as web design, information architecture,   usability testing or interaction design;</li>
